Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 28, 2026 · Applies to services offered through ezcstore-us.com and related ezCstore Accounting properties.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how ezCstore Accounting (“ezCstore,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you or your company use our websites, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). Our public site and primary service experience are provided through ezcstore-us.com and associated infrastructure.

We publish this policy so you can understand what we collect, why we collect it, how third‑party integrations such as Modisoft and bank connections through Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) fit in, and what we do not do with personal information.

2. Agreement to this policy and our terms

By creating an account, signing in, inviting users, connecting integrations, or otherwise using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy and agree to it, together with our Terms of Use. If you are using the Services on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these documents. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.

3. Definitions

  • “Personal information” means information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked with you or your household or, where applicable, with identifiable business contacts (for example, name, email address, phone number, or account identifiers).
  • “Integration credentials” means usernames, passwords, API keys, tokens, or similar secrets you or your company provide so we can connect to a third‑party system on your behalf (for example, Modisoft). This does not include your bank login password, which we never receive when you connect a bank through Plaid.
  • “Bank connection data” means account identifiers, account names and types, balances, and transaction history we receive from your financial institution through Plaid after you authorize a connection in Plaid Link, plus tokens we store so the connection can stay active until you unlink it.
  • “You” includes individual users, account administrators, and the business entity they act for.

4. Information we collect and generate

Depending on how you use the Services, we may collect or receive:

  • Account and profile data: such as name, email address, phone number, role, company or location affiliation, and authentication data managed through our sign‑in provider.
  • Business and operational data: such as sales summaries, purchases, fuel and store operational entries, bank activity you import or sync, and configuration you save in the product.
  • Bank connection data: when an authorized user connects a company bank or credit-card account through Plaid Link (see Plaid, below), including account and balance information and transaction history used for bookkeeping and reconciliation.
  • Integration credentials: when you choose to connect a third‑party system (see Modisoft and Plaid, below).
  • Support and communications: messages you send us, feedback, and related metadata.
  • Technical and usage data: such as IP address, device and browser type, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, and diagnostic logs needed to operate and secure the Services.
  • Billing data: when you subscribe or pay, payment-related information is handled by our payment processors; we may retain limited billing identifiers and transaction records as required to provide the Services and meet legal and accounting obligations.

5. Sale of personal information and unrelated commercial use

We do not sell your personal information to data brokers, advertisers, or unrelated third parties for their own commercial purposes. We do not use personal information we obtain through the Services to build profiles for sale or for cross‑context behavioral advertising as those practices are commonly understood.

We use personal information and business data only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and support the Services, to communicate with you about the Services, to comply with law, and as described in this policy or with your direction.

6. Third‑party systems and Modisoft credentials

The Services may allow your company to supply Modisoft(or other third‑party) sign‑in information—such as a username and password—so that our systems can authenticate to or poll that third party's website or APIs on your behalf, for example to retrieve sales, purchases, and related operational data needed for accounting workflows inside ezCstore.

Permission. By entering or authorizing Modisoft (or similar) credentials in the Services, the company and users doing so represent that they have the authority and consent required to grant us permission to use those credentials strictly for the integration features you enable—including automated retrieval of permitted data from Modisoft systems associated with your business.

Independent services. Modisoft is a separate company. Modisoft's own terms, privacy policy, and security practices govern your relationship with Modisoft and data held on Modisoft systems. For reference, Modisoft publishes a privacy policy here: https://legal.modisoft.com/modisoft_privacy/. We are not responsible for Modisoft's availability, accuracy, or handling of data on their side.

Storage and protection. We treat integration credentials as highly sensitive. Access is limited to what is necessary to perform the integration, and we implement administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to our environment. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Bank connections through Plaid

Authorized users may connect a company bank or credit-card account using Plaid Link so we can retrieve account and balance information and transaction history. We use that data only to power store bookkeeping in the Services: bank feeds, matching and reconciliation, cash-position views, and related accounting reports. We do not use Plaid to send payments, originate ACH, or move money.

Consent. Connecting an account is optional. When you start Link with Plaid, you (or the person your company authorizes) choose the institution, authenticate with that institution, and grant permission for ezCstore to receive the data types shown in that flow. We never receive your bank username or password. We store a connection token so we can continue syncing the authorized data until you unlink the account.

Plaid is a separate company. Plaid’s collection, use, and sharing of information is described in Plaid’s End User Privacy Policy: https://plaid.com/legal/#end-user-privacy-policy. You can also review and manage connections stored by Plaid, and request deletion of data Plaid holds, through Plaid Portal at https://my.plaid.com. Unlinking or deleting data in Plaid Portal does not automatically delete copies already stored in ezCstore; use the steps in this section for our systems.

Unlink and deletion. An authorized user can disconnect a bank in the Services (Settings → Bank → Unlink). Unlinking removes the Plaid connection token so we stop pulling new transactions. Bank-feed rows already saved for bookkeeping may remain as part of your company’s accounting records until you ask us to delete them or your account is closed, except where we must retain records for legal, tax, or accounting obligations. To request access, correction, or deletion of bank connection data we store, contact us using Section 13. We will not sell bank connection data or use it for unrelated advertising.

8. How we use and share information

We use information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Services;
  • Authenticate users, enforce permissions, and protect accounts;
  • Run integrations you configure (including Modisoft polling and Plaid bank feeds);
  • Provide customer support and respond to legal requests where required;
  • Analyze aggregated or de‑identified usage to improve reliability and product design.

We may share information with service providers (such as hosting, authentication, email delivery, analytics, payment processors, and Plaid for bank connections you authorize) who process data on our behalf under contractual obligations. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale with appropriate notice where the law requires it.

9. Retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active, as needed to provide the Services, and as necessary to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods can vary by data category and jurisdiction. Plaid connection tokens are kept only while a bank remains linked; we remove them when you unlink. Transaction lines already imported into your books follow the same accounting-record retention as other business data in the Services. Details, including disposal steps and the review schedule, are in our Data Retention and Disposal Policy.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information, or to opt out of certain processing. You may also be able to exercise privacy rights through mechanisms such as Global Privacy Control where applicable. To submit a request, contact us using the information in Section 13. We will not discriminate against you for exercising rights provided by law.

For bank connections: unlink in Settings → Bank, request deletion of data we stored as described in Section 7, and use Plaid Portal for connections and data held by Plaid.

11. No responsibility for lost or corrupted data

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups and records of your business data. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible or liable for any loss, corruption, alteration, or unavailability of data —including data obtained from Modisoft, Plaid, or other integrations, data entered into the Services, or data affected by outages, errors, maintenance, security incidents beyond our reasonable control, or actions of third parties. Your use of the Services is at your own risk; the Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis except where prohibited law requires otherwise. Our Terms of Use may contain additional disclaimers and limitations of liability.

12. Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

13. Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice as required by law (for example, by email or in‑product message).

For privacy questions, access or deletion requests (including bank connection data we store), contact us through the support channels published on Help or the contact method your organization uses for ezCstore Accounting billing and support.
